Lock-Down Report #2 (7 April 2020)
Since posting Report #1, I have completed a major rewrite of Feet of Clay. At minimum, this short story will get some writerly polish before it heads out into the publishing world; but I wouldn't be surprised if it needs further significant revisions. I'll park it for a week or two before diving back in. Still, I'm happy that it is a lot better than the first version.
I'm continuing to do R&D for my proposed next long-form project ("RT"), such as considering how the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic might affect the world-building. As that is an occasional task for now, I'm also developing a new short story provisionally titled These Are the Dead, the core concepts for which have been gathering dust in my notebook for a few years. Finally, I've had one of those idea #1 headbutts idea #2 moments that often presage a story coming together. Plot and character arcs are beginning to tangle in my head (and notebook) in ways that look interesting. As Doctor Frankenstein would say: "It's alive! It's alive!" (I hope.)
